## FAQs
Sherpo is an AI-driven, no-code platform designed to help you build, distribute, and manage digital content. Sherpo is a **Sherpo Technologies, Inc.** product.
The name **Sherpo is inspired by the Sherpas**, who skillfully guide travelers up the daunting peaks of the Himalayas, often without recognition. Similarly, we empower creators to establish their digital content businesses while maintaining complete control over their brand and pricing.
Sherpo was founded in March 2024. Our journey began as we sought to create and distribute digital content online, only to encounter **frustrating technical limitations posed by existing platforms**. Recognizing that many others faced similar challenges, we drew inspiration from the burgeoning opportunities presented by the AI revolution. This prompted the development of a **new business model**: a vertically integrated, AI-native, no-code platform with usage-based pricing and comprehensive white-label capabilities.
Sherpo is **truly all-in-one and AI-native**. We manage everything, from checkout and hosting to authentication, affiliates, coupons, and analytics, under one roof. Unlike other platforms, Sherpo also provides **enterprise-grade video hosting** with a **custom player**, ensuring unmatched speed, reliability, and control.
Not at all. Sherpo is built to be **completely no-code**. You can create, customize, and launch your store or content site without writing a single line of code.
Absolutely! Visit [demo.sherpo.io](https://demo.sherpo.io) to explore a live Sherpo-powered site and experience the platform firsthand.
You can reach us anytime at [**support@sherpo.io**](mailto:support@sherpo.io).. We’re also open to suggestions: if there’s a feature you’d love to see, let us know!
Our mission is to **help creators of all sizes reach the top**. Our vision is to become **the essential operating system for creators and enterprises** building and distributing digital content.
# Automations
Source: https://docs.sherpo.io/dashboard/automations
Trigger sequences following an action.
Automations help you save time and create delightful customer experiences by automatically triggering actions based on what your customers do.
You can use them to reward engagement, unlock bonus content, or send discounts: all without lifting a finger.
Automations are only available for Courses and Files/Downloads products.
***
## How automations work
Each automation follows a simple logic:
> **When** \[something happens] → **Then** \[do this action]
For example:
> When a customer reviews a product → then send them a discount coupon.
You can find automations in your Sherpo dashboard under **Products → Automations**. Click **Add Automation** to create a new one.
***
## Creating an automation
When creating a new automation, you’ll see three fields:
### 1. Title
Give your automation a short, descriptive name. This is for your own reference: customers won’t see it. Example: *Reward course reviews with coupon.*
### 2. When… (Trigger)
The trigger determines **when** the automation starts.
You can choose between:
* **Product unlocked** Triggers when a customer unlocks a product, either by purchasing it or receiving it for free (for example, from another automation).
* **Product reviewed** Triggers when a customer leaves or updates a review for the selected product. You can also select a minimum rating for the review to trigger the automation. Anything below the minimum will not trigger the automation.
***
### 3. Then… (Action)
The action defines **what happens** once the trigger fires.
You can choose between:
* **Unlock a Product** Automatically grants the customer free access to another product.
> Example: When someone buys *Course A*, unlock *Bonus Lesson*.
* **Create a One-Off Coupon** Sends a one-time discount code to the customer by email.
> Example: When someone reviews *Course A*, send them 20% off *Course B*.
***
## How customers are notified
Sherpo automatically handles customer notifications whenever an automation runs — no setup required.
### Product Unlocks
When a product is unlocked (either directly or through an automation), Sherpo sends an email titled **“You’ve unlocked new content!”**.
This message lists all products the customer now has access to and includes direct links to view them. If multiple products are unlocked together, they’ll all appear in the same email.
***
### Coupons
If the automation sends a one-off coupon, the customer receives a **separate** email titled **“Here’s your discount! 🏷️”**.
This message includes the product name, coupon code, and a call-to-action button to redeem it.
***
## Example automations
### 1. Unlock bonus content after purchase
* **When:** Product unlocked → *Course A*
* **Then:** Unlock a Product → *Bonus Lesson* → The customer gets *Bonus Lesson* automatically when they purchase *Course A*.
***
### 2. Reward reviews with a discount
* **When:** Product reviewed with 3+ stars → *Course A*
* **Then:** Create a One-Off Coupon → *Course B* → The customer receives a personalized coupon for *Course B* via email when they leave a review for *Course A*.
***
## Tips & best practices
* You can create multiple automations per product (e.g., one for purchases and another for reviews).
* Automations run independently, so multiple actions can trigger simultaneously.
* If multiple products are unlocked at once, Sherpo consolidates them into a single email for a clean experience.
* Coupon emails are always sent separately for clarity and higher engagement.
***
## FAQ
Yes. You can create multiple automations for the same product: for instance, one that unlocks a bonus course on purchase, and another that sends a coupon after a review.
Yes. Automations execute in real time: as soon as the trigger condition is met, Sherpo sends the email or unlocks the product immediately.
Not yet. For example, unlocking a bonus product via automation does not trigger another automation attached to that product.
If you delete a linked product, that automation will not work anymore. Editing a product’s name or price does not affect existing automations.
No. Automations currently apply to all eligible buyers of a product, but you can use coupon limits and access control for targeted campaigns.
Not yet. Emails use Sherpo’s built-in design and copy for consistency, but future updates will support branded or custom messages.
Sherpo checks ownership automatically: if the buyer already has access, the automation will skip that action silently.
Yes, but only if triggered separately. Each automation generates a unique coupon instance, even for the same customer or product.
Yes. If someone unlocks a free product, any “Product unlocked” automation tied to it will still fire as usual.
Yes, you can temporarily pause it by clicking "Pause" on the three dots.
# Certificates
Source: https://docs.sherpo.io/dashboard/certificates
Create branded completion certificates for quizzes, control what appears on the PDF, and decide when learners can generate them.
Certificates let learners generate a downloadable, verifiable certificate after completing a quiz. Each certificate is linked to a **single quiz** and uses one template that you can edit anytime.
If you're looking for a guide about how to create **Quizzes**, you can find it here:
Create graded quizzes inside Courses using multiple choice, true or false, sliders, and open-ended questions, with built-in scoring and response analytics.
**Note**: you need a paid plan to add or edit certificates.
***
## Access and setup
* Certificates live under **Assessment** inside a **Course** product.
* To create a certificate, you must have **at least one quiz** in the product, and it must be linked to an existing lesson Page.
***
## Create a certificate
You can create a certificate in two ways:
* Click **Add Certificate** in **Assessment**.
* Or open the quiz overflow menu (•••) and select **Issue Certificate**.
In your Course product, go to **Quizzes & certificates** and click **Add Certificate**.
Customize the text that appears on the certificate:
* **Certificate Title**: the main heading (example: “Certificate of Completion”).
* **Awarded Copy**: the line shown before the recipient name (example: “This certificate is awarded to”).
* **Reason Copy**: the line shown before the quiz title (example: “For successfully completing the course”).
* **Title** (optional): overrides the quiz title shown on the certificate. Leave empty to use the quiz name.
* **Score Label** and **Score Suffix**: labels for the score line (example: “With a score of” and “out of 100”).
Configure what appears on the PDF and when certificates can be generated:
* **Show Score**: displays the learner’s score on the certificate (scores are normalized to 100).
* **Require passing score**: only allow certificate generation for scores **60 or higher**.
* **Show Completion Date**: displays when the certificate was earned.
* **Show QR Code**: adds a QR code that links to the certificate verification page.
Click **Create** to save the certificate template.
***
## Certificate PDF
Certificates render as a clean PDF designed for sharing and printing.
## Verification via QR code
If you enable **Show QR Code**, the certificate includes a QR code that leads to a verification page confirming authenticity and showing key details like recipient, score, course, issue date, and certificate ID.
Take a [live look here](https://demo.sherpo.io/c/2xXteQfDHimnioOFvsghb/v/f97e699d-bf1d-48d0-9c33-f36e177c5cc4)!
***
## Editing and deletion behavior
* Editing a certificate updates the **template** used going forward.
* Previously generated certificates remain **valid and verifiable**, even if you later change the template.
* If you remove a certificate from a quiz (or delete the template link), learners will no longer be able to generate new certificates for that quiz, but **existing certificates still verify**.
***
## Best practices
* Keep headings and short labels concise for clean layouts (aim for 50 characters or fewer where possible).
* Turn on **Require passing score** for graded programs, and leave it off for participation certificates.
* Enable **Show QR Code** if learners will share certificates publicly or you need easy verification.
* If you run multiple quizzes with similar names, use the optional **Title** override to make the certificate unambiguous.
***
## FAQs
No. Each certificate template is linked to a single quiz.
If "Require passing score" has been enabled, learners will have to obtain a score of 60 or higher. Quiz scores are normalized to 100, and question weights can change how points are distributed.
No. Certificates that have already been generated remain valid and verifiable. Removing the template only affects future generation.
Turn off **Show Score** in the certificate settings. You can still keep **Require passing score** enabled.
The certificate records the learner’s best score at the time they generate it.
# Discounts & Affiliates
Source: https://docs.sherpo.io/dashboard/coupons
Boost sales with targeted coupon codes and affiliate commissions managed directly in Sherpo.
Under each product, Sherpo gives you two built-in growth tools, fully integrated inside your dashboard:
* **Discounts** — Create product or price-specific coupons with scheduling and usage controls.
* **Affiliates** — Track what partners earn from the sales they generate using their unique discount code.
Both tools live directly inside your Dashboard, so you can launch promotions without third-party services.
***
## Discounts
Discounts (coupons) let you apply percentage or fixed reductions to a product or a specific price. They are ideal for launches, seasonal campaigns, and limited-time offers.
Go to: **Products → \[Product] → Discounts**
***
## Discounts overview
Inside the Discounts page, you will see summary cards: **Active, Scheduled, Auto-applied, Total.**
Discounts are grouped into two sections:
* **Price Discounts** — Apply to a specific price. Support percentage, fixed amount, or both combined.
* **Product Discounts** — Apply to the entire product. Support percentage discounts.
If there is ambiguity, higher specificity takes priority. Price-level discounts override product-level discounts. Only one discount can be applied at checkout at a time.
***
## Create a discount
Go to **Products → \[Product] → Discounts**.
Click **New Discount** in the top-right corner.
Configure your discount:
* **Name** — Internal name for the discount.
* **Coupon Code** — Code customers enter at checkout. Leave blank for an auto-applied discount.
* **Apply To** — Choose **Product** or **Price**.
* **Percentage (%)** — Percentage off (0–100).
* **Fixed amount (\$)** — Fixed discount amount (price discounts only).
* **Total Supply** — Maximum total redemptions. Leave 0 for no limit.
* **Per Customer** — Maximum redemptions per customer. Leave 0 for no limit.
* **Start Date** — When the discount becomes active. Leave blank for immediate activation.
* **End Date** — When the discount expires. Leave blank for no expiration.
Click **Create** to save the discount.
***
### Auto-applied discounts
If you leave the **Coupon Code** field empty, the discount is automatically applied at checkout. Auto-applied discounts cannot be linked to affiliates.
### Scheduled discounts
If you set a future start date, the discount appears under **Scheduled** and activates automatically on that date.
### Expired discounts
If the end date passes or the total supply is reached, the discount automatically expires and can no longer be used.
### Important rules
* Only one discount can be applied per checkout.
* Price-level discounts override product-level discounts.
* Auto-applied discounts are not eligible for the affiliate program.
***
## Affiliates (Partner commissions)
Affiliates allow you to link a partner to a specific discount code. When customers use that code, Sherpo tracks the commission owed to the affiliate.
Go to: **Products → \[Product] → Affiliates**
***
## Affiliates overview
Inside the Affiliates page, you will see summary cards:
* **Affiliates**
* **Unpaid**
* **Paid**
* **Total Earned**
Each affiliate entry shows:
* Affiliate email
* Linked discount code
* Commission structure
Sherpo does not process affiliate payments. You are responsible for settling commissions directly with your affiliates.
***
## Add an affiliate
Go to **Products → \[Product] → Prices → Affiliates**.
Click **New Affiliate**.
Fill in:
* **Affiliate Email** — Email address of the partner. They will be notified about their earnings.
* **Discount** — Select the discount code they will promote. Auto-applied discounts are not eligible.
* **Commission (%)** — Percentage of the sale the affiliate earns.
* **Fixed Commission (\$)** — Fixed amount earned per sale.
Click **Create** to link the affiliate.
You can set:
* Percentage commission
* Fixed commission
* Or both combined
***
## How it works
1. You create a discount.
2. You link an affiliate to that discount.
3. The affiliate shares their code.
4. A customer uses the code at checkout.
5. Sherpo calculates the commission automatically.
6. You manually pay the affiliate.
***
## When to use each
| Tool | Best for | Setup effort | Checkout behavior |
| ---------- | ------------------------------------ | ------------ | ------------------------------------------- |
| Discounts | Launches, promotions, limited offers | Low | Buyer enters code or receives auto discount |
| Affiliates | Influencer campaigns, partnerships | Medium | Buyer uses affiliate code, sale is tracked |
Use both together for stronger performance: affiliates drive traffic, discounts increase conversions, and Sherpo tracks everything in one place.
***
## FAQ
No. Only one discount can be applied at checkout.
No. Affiliates must be linked to a specific coupon code.
Yes. You can set both.
No. Sherpo tracks commissions, but you must settle payments manually.
The discount becomes inactive and can no longer be used at checkout.
# Creation
Source: https://docs.sherpo.io/dashboard/creation
Learn how to create a new product on Sherpo.
Sherpo’s product creation flow lets you define what you’re selling, set a name and prepare content, pricing, and much more, all from a single workspace.
In this guide you will learn how to create a product after the initial setup of your Sherpo Organization. Then, you’ll land in the product dashboard, where each tab handles a different aspect: content, pricing, availability, and behavior.
***
## Creating a Product
Once inside your **Sherpo Dashboard**, open **Products** in the sidebar to see an overview of all your existing products.
Click **New Product** in the top-right corner.
Add a title (required) and subtitle (optional). Sherpo automatically generates a product slug (e.g., `/p/{slug}`) from your title.
Pick one of Sherpo’s available product types (e.g., **Files**, **Course**, **Series** etc.). Each type preconfigures features: for instance, Courses include lessons and course progression tracking (inside settings).
Once you click **Create**, Sherpo provisions the new product and redirects you to the **Overview** tab. From here, you can continue to **Basic info**, **Settings**, and then add **Pages**, **Files**, **Prices**, or **Automations** as needed.
***
## Product Types
Here are the products you can currently create in Sherpo:
Create comprehensive courses with chapters and lessons.
Distribute your video-based episodic content to your audience.
Allow users to download digital files or get exclusive links.
Let your audience support you with tips, like buying you a coffee.
Run fundraising campaigns with real-time progress bars.
Create a landing page for your Cal.com listings.
***
## Best practices
* **Pick the right type upfront:** Switching product type later requires reconfiguration.
* **Keep titles short and clear:** They’ll appear in URLs, receipts, and customer dashboards.
* **Add a subtitle or short tagline:** It improves discoverability and context on your storefront.
* **Use drafts:** You can safely prepare a product before publishing it, by not setting a price or by setting pages as drafts (e.g., inside Courses).
* **Preview often:** Click “Visit live product” to see changes instantly in your hosted site.
***
## FAQ
No. Product types are locked after creation because each category has different internal features (e.g., Courses have lessons, Files don't; Series has episodes instead of lessons, and trailers instead of cover).
Sherpo automatically generates a unique slug for each product. If a conflict occurs, you’ll see a warning and can adjust the title or slug manually.
Yes. Newly created products are drafts by default until you add pricing.
Absolutely. You can create different product types (e.g., a Course, a Serie, a File, and a Coffee tip jar) under the same organization and site.
Yes. From the **Overview** tab, use the product menu (⋯) and select **Delete**. This action is irreversible.
Not yet. To duplicate an existing product you will have to recreate it.
* **Drafts**: Products in progress, not yet published.
* **Archived**: Published products you’ve taken offline: no longer visible to customers but retained for analytics and history.
Yes. Every product has a **Visit live product** button that opens a preview of the public page (even before making it available for purchase: you will be able to see it in Admin mode).
# Site builder
Source: https://docs.sherpo.io/dashboard/layout
Build and customize your pages by stacking and composing blocks. Powerful under the hood, simple to use.
Site builder is the visual editor that controls how your Sherpo **pages** (home page, landing pages, and product pages), along with your **header** and **footer**, are structured.
You do not design with code or fixed templates. Instead, you build your site by combining **blocks**, each representing a self-contained section.
Everything you see on a page is a block, ordered vertically from top to bottom. Reordering blocks changes the layout instantly.
***
## Open Site builder
* Sign in to [Sherpo Dash](https://dash.sherpo.io)
* Open your space
* Navigate to **Site → Site builder**
***
## Pages
In addition to your homepage, Sherpo lets you create dedicated pages such as **/pricing**, **/features**, **/courses**, or any custom page you need.
All **pages use the same block-based editor**, so you can design each page visually without writing code. Pages can also be **imported or exported between Sherpo spaces**.
### Create a new page
1. Navigate to **Site → Pages**
2. Click **New Page**
3. Enter a **Title** and **URL Slug**
4. (Optional) Add a **Description**
5. Optionally toggle **Add to header** to display the page in your top navigation (up to **3 pages** can appear in the header)
6. Click **Create Page**
***
## How Site builder works
Inside each page you will see:
* A list of blocks on the left
* A live preview of your site on the right
* Device and theme toggles at the top of the preview
A Sherpo page is a **vertical stack of blocks**.
* Blocks render from top to bottom
* Each block is independent
* Reordering a block never breaks other blocks
* Header and footer are global sections
* Everything in between is fully customizable
Think of Site builder like a list. Changing the order of items changes the page, and changes are applied only after clicking **Update**.
***
### The editor and live preview
Site builder is split into two panels:
* **Left side:** block list and editing controls
* **Right side:** a **live preview** of your page that updates as you add, remove, hide, or reorder blocks
To find a block on the page, click **Highlight in Preview** on a block. Sherpo highlights the block in the preview (in blue) so you can quickly locate it in the layout.
At the top of the preview you can also:
* Toggle **Desktop**, **Tablet**, and **Mobile** to see how the page appears across devices
* Toggle **Light** and **Dark** mode to preview both themes
***
## Blocks explained
Blocks are the **building blocks** of your site. Each block represents a section of content such as text, images, videos, product listings, pricing tables, or FAQs.
All blocks share the same core behavior.
### What you can do with any block
For every block you can:
* Move it up or down
* Add a block before or after it
* Hide it (except global sections like the header and footer)
* Delete it (except protected blocks)
Hiding a block is useful for experimentation. Hidden blocks are not visible on your live site.
### Hero block
The **Hero block** is the first section of a page and is included by default in every layout.
It is designed to introduce the page with a clear headline and primary actions. While the Hero block cannot be deleted, it **can be hidden** if you prefer to begin your page with another section.
Inside the Hero block you can configure the titled section (eyebrow, title, subtitle, description, alignment) and add **Highlights**, which appear as short bullet points under the hero content, commonly used to emphasize benefits. The Hero block also supports **call-to-action buttons (CTAs)**. Each CTA includes:
* **Label** — Button text
* **URL** — Destination link
* **Style** — Primary or Ghost
* **Arrow** — Optional arrow icon indicator
You can add multiple CTAs and reorder them. A common pattern is:
* **Primary CTA** → main action (e.g. *Start now, it's free*)
* **Secondary CTA** → supporting action (e.g. *Compare plans*)
***
### Add a new block
Click **Add block** to insert a new block.
Blocks are grouped into categories:
* **Content**
* **Data**
* **Layout**
* **Products**
* **Utility**
***
## Block categories
Below is a quick overview of what each block type is best used for.
***
### Content blocks
Use Content blocks to add standalone elements.
* **Image** — Add a standalone image for visuals, screenshots, or galleries
* **Video** — Upload a standalone video using Sherpo’s [custom video player](https://docs.sherpo.io/products/course#custom-player)
* **YouTube** — Embed a YouTube video
* **Markdown** — Write [long-form text](https://docs.sherpo.io/dashboard/markdown) such as landing page copy, policies, or explanations
For most landing pages, use a Markdown block for the main copy, then combine it with Image or Video blocks.
***
### Layout blocks
Layout blocks structure and organize other blocks.
* **Card** — Wrap other blocks inside a styled container
* **Titled section** — Add eyebrow, title, subtitle, description, and nested content
* **Side by side** — Create a two-column layout
* **Carousel** — Display scrollable images or videos
* **Grid** — Create customizable column layouts responsive across devices
* **Theme-Aware** — Show different blocks depending on light or dark mode
* **Expandable** — Collapsible content sections
Layout blocks can contain other blocks. In most cases, blocks must be created inside the layout block rather than dragged into it.
***
### Products blocks
Products blocks display items from your Sherpo catalog.
* **Line Products** — Display all products with line visibility
* **Grid Products** — Display all products with grid visibility
* **Product Card** — Feature a single selected product
Product order and visibility are managed in **Products**, not in Site builder.
***
### Utility blocks
Utility blocks control spacing and layout helpers.
* **Horizontal rule** — Add a divider line (solid, dashed, or dotted)
* **Spacer** — Add adjustable vertical spacing
* **Background image** — Add a subtle full-page background image
***
### Data blocks
Data blocks display structured information.
* **Stats** — Display metrics and key numbers
* **FAQ** — Collapsible frequently asked questions
* **Pricing** — Build SaaS-style pricing tables
* **Timeline** — Display sequential events or milestones
* **Contact** — Show contact information
* **Logos** — Display partner or customer logos
***
## Compose sections with blocks
Complex sections are created by combining simple blocks.
A common structure:
* Titled section
* Side by side layout
* Markdown content on the left
* Image or video on the right
* Spacer
* Pricing or FAQ
You are not configuring a single large component. You are composing **reusable blocks**, which makes pages easier to update later.
For inspiration, explore our [templates](https://docs.sherpo.io/dashboard/templates).
***
## Header and footer
The **header** appears at the top of every page and cannot be moved or deleted.
The **footer** contains legal links, theme toggles, social links, and the **Powered by Sherpo** badge.
The **Powered by Sherpo** badge is enabled by default and can be disabled on the **Ultra plan**.
***
## Best practices for creators
* Start with one clear goal per page
* Pair explanations with visuals using Side-by-side sections
* Add social proof early using Logos or Stats
* Place FAQs near the bottom
* Keep pages scannable with clear headings and spacing
***
### Common mistakes
If your page does not look as expected, check these first.
* **A block is hidden:** Hidden blocks do not appear on your live site.
* **Changes are not live:** Changes appear on your site only after clicking **Update**. Creators on the **Start plan** can edit and preview pages, but changes appear on the live site only after upgrading.
* **Content was added to the wrong block:** Some layout blocks contain internal content areas. Ensure you are editing the correct block.
***
## Availability
Site builder availability depends on your plan.
* **Pro** and **Ultra** users can publish changes to their live site
* **Start** users can build and preview layouts, but publishing requires an upgrade
Start users can freely experiment. Any page you build will be ready to publish immediately after upgrading.
***

# Markdown
Source: https://docs.sherpo.io/dashboard/markdown
Write and structure content with headings, tables, FAQs, links, and AI tools.
Sherpo’s **Markdown** is used across lessons descriptions or as a block inside the site builder for landing pages and product pages. It is block-based and visual, so you can focus on writing instead of formatting or code.
Everything you see while editing is exactly how it will appear on your site.

Complete guided onboarding to create your organization, pick a plan, and launch your site.
When you sign in to [Sherpo Dash](https://dash.sherpo.io) without an existing organization or site, Sherpo automatically launches the onboarding flow. A three-step checklist at the top tracks your progress through **Your business**, **Your plan**, and **Your site**.
Each step unlocks only after the previous one succeeds.
First, you can sign in using your **Google account** or by requesting a **magic link** sent to your email.
Magic link codes expire after 5 minutes and may take up to a few minutes to deliver. Check your spam folder just in case.
***
Once logged in, you will receive a welcome email:
## Step 1: Your business
In this step, you create your **organization**.
### Organization name
* Accepts **3 to 100 characters**.
* Use your **legal business name** if applicable, or the **brand name** your customers recognize.
* You can change this later from **Organization → Settings**.
### Important note about your organization email
Your organization **public email address** is set to the email of the user creating the organization (for example, `onboarding-docs@sherpo.io`). Depending on **Team & Members** availability, you might not be able to change this later.
### Submission
Click **Continue** to create the organization and move to Step 2.
You will always be able to manage your organization settings later, by clicking your icon in the top-left corner:
***
## Step 2: Your plan
Choose a plan for your organization. You can change this later.
### Plans
* **Free (Start)**: for testing and exploring.
* **Pro**: **\$29/month**, for emerging creators.
* **Ultra**: **\$79/month**, for professionals and influencers.
### Options on this screen
* **Save with yearly billing**: enables annual billing (when applicable).
* **I have a coupon code**: apply a promo code during checkout.
### What happens after you choose
* **Free (Start)**: click **Continue** to proceed to Step 3.
* **Pro or Ultra**: Sherpo opens a secure Stripe Checkout. After payment, you return to onboarding automatically.
***
## Step 3: Your site
Step 3 creates your first **site**. Here, you will be able to select:
* **Site name**: **3 to 30 characters** (shown to visitors).
* **Site description**: optional, up to **250 characters** (often shown on your homepage).
* Choose your site hostname under `sherpo.io`.
* Must be **6 to 63 characters**.
* Must be **unique** across Sherpo.
You will also be prompted to select your site's language and optional icon.
* **Language**: sets the default language for your site and affects the interface language for visitors.
* **Icon**: upload a square PNG or JPEG (minimum **180×180 px**). Icon updates might take longer to propagate due to browser caching.
After your site is created, more customization options (theme colors, custom CSS, search engine visibility, and more) are available in **Settings**.
Once everything is valid, click **Continue**. Sherpo creates the site and finishes onboarding. You will land on the main dashboard.
You will also receive an email confirmation with your website's link:
***
## Optional: Connect payments
If you plan to sell paid products right away, visit **Organization → Payments** after onboarding to complete the **Stripe Connect** setup (see the Payments doc for details). Check this guide out to properly set up payments:

For Calendar products, **Get** also contains the product-specific booking interface, where users can schedule a meeting with you and view the host information you have set.
All of this is included by default in the **Aside Column**, which displays the blocks on the right. You are free to remove them from the column and position them wherever you prefer. Sherpo simply ensures that all mandatory blocks are present before allowing you to update the page.

## Build your Course product page
Under **Page Builder**, you can fully customize how your Course page looks using Sherpo's powerful, lego-like builder.
### Course-specific blocks
Inside your Course page builder, you will see a **Pages block** where all lessons and chapters reside, alongside the "Get" and "Content" blocks. Like in every other Sherpo product, these blocks are mandatory and cannot be deleted or hidden. If not populated, they will simply not render.
All of this is included by default in the **Aside Column**, which displays the blocks on the right. You are free to remove them from the column and position them wherever you prefer. Sherpo simply ensures that all mandatory blocks are present before allowing you to update the page.
### Product-specific blocks
All product Page Builders include an additional **Product** block category. These blocks are specific to the product type and power the core functionality of the page.
These blocks usually include:
* **Get** — The purchase or unlock interface for the product.
* **Summary** — A compact overview of product metrics or highlights.
* **Review** — Displays review ratings and feedback from customers.
* **Pages** — Lists internal pages such as lessons, episodes, or product sections.
* **Content** — Displays the files or content included in the product.
Like other mandatory blocks, some of these may already be included in your layout and cannot be deleted, but you are free to move them anywhere within your page.
### Page builder

* **Description** supports rich text, embeds, transcripts, and lesson notes.
After uploading slides, you can enable **Downloadable slides** to let users download the PDF. Downloadable slides do not include PDF security. If you need watermarking, upload the file as an extra resource instead.
When finished, click **Create** or **Save as Draft**.
For videos, slides, and files to upload correctly, first update the lesson and wait for the uploads to complete.

### Upload files
Use the **Files & links** tab to upload the files customers receive after they unlock the product.
* Click **Add files** to open the uploader.
* Drag and drop files, or click to browse.
* Wait for uploads to finish before leaving the page.
Files are not downloadable until the customer has unlocked the product.
Each uploaded file appears with its **name**, **size**, and **type**. You can also add a short description so customers know what they are downloading.

# Quizzes
Source: https://docs.sherpo.io/dashboard/quizzes
Create graded quizzes inside Courses using multiple choice, true or false, sliders, and open-ended questions, with built-in scoring and response analytics.
Quizzes let you test learners directly inside a **Course** product. This guide explains how to create quizzes, build question blocks, link a quiz to a lesson page, and monitor results.
**Note**: you need a paid plan to add or edit quizzes.
***
## Access and setup
Quizzes live inside each Course workspace and only become visible to customers when placed on a lesson page.
* Find them under **Assessment** in a Course product.
* A quiz appears to customers only after you **link it to a lesson page**.
* To preview a quiz without publishing it publicly, link it to a **draft lesson** and open it in your website, using **Admin mode** by logging in to your site with your Sherpo's account email.
***
## Create a quiz
Open a Course product in your dashboard.
Go to **Assessment**.
Click **Add Quiz**.
Name the quiz (up to 50 characters) and configure availability settings:
* **Retries**: keep disabled for a single attempt, or enable and set **1–100** retries.
* **Show correct answers**: keep enabled to show answers after the quiz is no longer accessible, or disable for blind grading.
Build your quiz using blocks (up to **50** total).
Click **Create** to publish the quiz to your account. Then **link the quiz to a lesson page** so students can see it.
***
## Build questions with blocks
Quizzes are built using blocks. Some are for structure, others are graded question types.
### Non-interactive blocks
Use these for layout and guidance. They do not affect scoring.
* `Static text` for introductions, instructions, or context
* `Section break` to split questions into sections. Learners move forward using the button in the bottom-right, and can still navigate back. This is useful for grouping questions by topic.
* `Separator` for visual dividers between parts
### Auto-graded questions
These blocks contribute to the final score.
* `Multiple choice` (one correct option, default weight = 1)
* `True/False` (choose the correct boolean)
* `Slider` (set **min**, **correct value**, and **max**)
* `Open-ended` (provide accepted answers, matched case-insensitively)
You can adjust importance using **Weight**. Final scores are normalized to **100**.
### Feedback-only (not graded)
* `Free text` collects written responses and does not affect the score.
### Advanced settings (weight, hints, explanations)
Use advanced settings to control how questions score and what learners see after submitting.
* **Weight** changes how much a question counts relative to others.
* **Hint** and **Explanation** can be added per question. Explanations are shown only when **Show correct answers** is enabled for the quiz. They will appear to customers only once they get a 100%, complete the final attempt, or forfeit the quiz.

## Smart Stack
Smart Stack converts pasted Markdown into quiz blocks automatically, which is useful for fast drafting and AI-assisted quiz creation.
A fast workflow is to give your written quiz and the prompt below to an AI assistant, then paste the AI output into Smart Stack (you can copy this prompt straight from the dashboard too!).
Use markdown to generate quiz blocks. Trim separators/section breaks from the very start and end.
* '---' creates a Separator.
Example: `---`
* '-->' creates a Section Break.
Example: `-->`
* Paragraphs/markdown become Static Text.
Example:
```
Welcome to the quiz!
**Good luck.**
```
* Single checklist item ( - \[ ] ) becomes True/False; checked = true.
Example:
`- [x] This is a true statement`
`- [ ] This is a false statement`
* List item with nested checklist becomes Multiple Choice; checked option is correct.
Example:
```
- Question?
- [x] Correct
- [ ] Wrong
```
* List item with unordered nested list becomes Open-Ended accepted answers.
Example:
```
- Capital of France?
- Paris
- PARIS
```
* List item with ordered nested list of exactly 3 numbers sets a Slider: min, correct, max.
Example:
```
- Rate our service
1. 1
2. 5
3. 10
```
* List item without a sublist becomes a Free-Text question.
Example: `- Tell us about yourself`

## Link the quiz to a lesson Page
A quiz is not visible to students until you place it on a lesson Page.
* In **Assessment**, open the quiz overflow menu and select **Link to Page**.
* Choose the Lesson where the quiz should appear. The picker will show all your lessons in order, so you can confirm placement.
* You can always unlink later. Unlinked quizzes remain saved but won’t render for customers.
***
## Quiz example
Want to give a try to a live quiz? [Check out our sample quiz here!](https://demo.sherpo.io/p/sherpo-course/quiz-example)
***
## Monitor responses and scoring
Open a quiz and go to **Responses** to review performance and attempt-level detail.
Top metrics include:
* **Committed attempts** (completed or forfeited)
* **Average score**
* **Average completion time**
* **Pass rate** (attempts scoring **60%+**)
The responses table includes:
* Status (in progress, completed, forfeited)
* Attempt number
* Score (normalized to 100)
* Duration
* Timestamp
You can also delete individual attempts from the table. Summary metrics update automatically.
And you can also review each student’s responses in depth, filtering by correct, wrong, or ungradable, with a search bar to find the question or answer you’re looking for.
***
If you're looking for a guide about how to create **Certificates**, you can find it here:
Create branded completion certificates for quizzes, control what appears on the PDF, and decide when students can generate them.
***
## FAQs
Correct answers contribute their assigned weight. Sherpo normalizes the final total to 100. Pass rate includes attempts scoring 60% or higher.
Yes. Enable **Allow retries** and set the maximum number of attempts. If retries are disabled, students only get one try.
You have two options: increase the allowed attempts (even temporarily) or delete the student’s attempt from the quiz responses table.
No. Free text is feedback-only and excluded from grading.
The quiz must be linked to a Page. Unlinked quizzes never render for customers.
Deleting a quiz removes it from any linked pages and deletes its configuration. Previously recorded attempts may no longer be accessible from the quiz.
# Redirects
Source: https://docs.sherpo.io/dashboard/redirects
Make redirect links to any page on your Sherpo site, or elsewhere.
Sherpo Redirects let you clean up URLs, create branded short links, and retire old launches gracefully without touching DNS or plugins. You can map any path on your Sherpo site (for example, `/course`) to another internal page or an external URL directly from your Dashboard.
***
## Internal vs external redirects
Sherpo supports two types of redirects, with different availability depending on your plan.
### Internal redirects (available to everyone)
Internal redirects send visitors from one path on your Sherpo site to another Sherpo page.
* Available on all plans
* Ideal for short links, coupons, bundles, and product pages
* Example: `/course` → `/p/sherpo-course`
***
### External redirects (Pro only)
External redirects send visitors from your Sherpo site to an external URL.
* Available only on the Pro plan
* Perfect for branded social links, documentation, or external tools
* Example: `/instagram` → `https://www.instagram.com/sherpo.io/`
***
## When to use redirects
Redirects are useful for both marketing and site organization.\
Common use cases include:
* **Campaign tracking**\
Create short, memorable links for affiliates, newsletters, or ads.\
Example: `/vip` → `/p/exclusive-bundle?utm_campaign=vip_launch`\
Visitors only need to open `yoursite.sherpo.io/vip`.
* **A/B testing**\
Test multiple promo URLs and compare conversion performance.
* **Cleanup**\
Retire outdated pages while keeping backlinks alive by pointing them to newer products.
***
## Create a redirect
1. Go to **Organization → Site Settings → Redirects** (or the **Redirects** tab under your site menu).
2. Click **New Redirect**.
3. Fill in the fields:
* **Path**\
The short path visitors will type, for example `/course`. Must start with `/`.
* **Destination**
* An internal Sherpo page, like `/p/course-2025-edition`
* An external HTTPS URL (Pro only)
4. Click **Create Redirect**.
The redirect becomes active immediately.
***
## Manage existing redirects
Use the **Redirects** list to view or delete redirects.
* Instantly see which paths are in use
* Remove old campaigns with one click
* Changes apply immediately after updating
***
## Best practices
* Keep paths short and human-readable\
Examples: `/bundle`, `/demo`, `/discount`
* Review redirects every few months to clean up unused links.
* Combine redirects with bundles, coupons, or affiliates.\
Example: `/vip` → hidden bundle with an auto-applied coupon.
* Avoid chaining multiple redirects. Always point directly to the final destination.
***
## FAQ
Redirects help preserve SEO equity from old links. Short internal redirects like `/course` → `/p/sherpo-course` do not harm performance.
Yes, but only on the Pro plan. All external redirects must use HTTPS.
Redirect usage counts are not yet shown in the dashboard. You can track clicks using UTM parameters, GA4, or Cloudflare Web Analytics.
After updating, the redirect is removed. Visitors will be sent to your homepage.
Yes. Redirects work perfectly with coupons, affiliates, and automations.\
Example: `/summer20` → `/p/product?coupon=SUMMER20`.
Yes. All redirects apply instantly and are handled globally by Sherpo.
You can create up to 100 internal redirects.\
External redirects are limited to 25 and require the Pro plan.
# Reviews
Source: https://docs.sherpo.io/dashboard/reviews
Set up reviews and collect customer feedback directly on your Sherpo products.
Sherpo’s review system lets you gather verified customer feedback right inside your dashboard, with no third-party tools or integrations required.
Buyers can rate your products and leave short notes after unlocking them. You’ll see every review in your dashboard, automatically organized by product.
In this guide we see how to set up reviews from the Dashboard. If you are looking for a guide about how reviews work from the user's side, check out this:
Let your customers leave reviews to your products.
***
## How reviews work
* Reviews are available for most product types, including **Courses** and **Files**.
* Customers can leave a **1–5 star rating** and optionally add their name and/or a short written comment.
* Each review is tied to the corresponding order, so you always know **who left it** and **when**.
* Written reviews are public by default, reviews with no comments are hidden by default. You can always hide and unhide reviews, from your Dashboard.
***
## Enable or disable reviews
Reviews are enabled by default. To turn them off for a specific product:
1. Go to **Products → \[Product] → Settings**.
2. Toggle **Hide reviews**.
* When disabled, customers won’t be able to submit new reviews.
3. Click **Save**: changes apply immediately.
***
## Export & report
You can export reviews for deeper analysis or reporting:
* Open **Sales → Reviews**, then click **Export**.
* Sherpo generates a CSV containing:
* Rating
* Comment
* Customer name and email
* Submission timestamp
You can filter by rating or date before exporting, and analyze the file in your BI tool or spreadsheet.
***
## Best practices
* **Follow up:** Encourage buyers to share feedback after purchase.
* **Identify themes:** Pay attention to recurring phrases in 4–5 star reviews to see what customers value most.
* **Respond quickly to low scores:** Use reviews as a customer support signal and reach out privately to resolve issues, if any.
* **Gather testimonials:** Showcase your best reviews in your product page or on your socials.
***
## FAQ
Yes. Go to **Products → \[Product] → Settings → Hide reviews**, then save your changes.
Yes. You can create automations that run when a new review is submitted or updated, for example, sending a custom coupon or granting a reward.
Yes. Use the **Export** button in **Sales → Reviews** to download a CSV of all reviews, including rating, comment, and customer info.
Existing reviews remain visible in your dashboard but customers won’t be able to submit new ones.
Yes, you can decide whether to show a certain review or not. Reviews with no comments are hidden by default, but can be unhidden.
No. However, each review is linked to an order and customer email, so you can follow up manually if needed.
# Sales & Customers
Source: https://docs.sherpo.io/dashboard/sales
Track revenue, refunds, customer cohorts, and AI insights from Sherpo's Sales and Customers dashboards.
Sherpo’s **Sales** and **Customers** dashboards centralize performance analytics so you can understand your business without leaving the app. The **Sales** page tracks revenue, fees, and payouts, while the **Customers** page highlights buyer geography, cohorts, and lifetime value.
Both pages share the same date-range filters, currency selector, and AI-powered analysis tools.
***
## Sales page
### Header metrics
At the top, you’ll see **cumulative stats per currency**:
* **All-time sales** — Number of completed transactions.
* **All-time revenues** — Total gross sales.
* **Net all-time revenues** — Gross minus Sherpo and Stripe fees.
* **Sherpo fees** — Platform commissions (0–5%, depending on your plan).
* **External fees** — Payment processor costs (e.g., Stripe).
* **Affiliate commissions** — Total payout amounts (if applicable).
Switch currencies from the dropdown to review sales in different denominations.\
Click **Balance & Payouts** to open your connected Stripe dashboard for live payouts and balances.
### Date range & filters
* Use preset filters (7 days, 30 days, MTD, custom) to adjust charts and tables.
* All filters persist in the page URL, so you can share or bookmark exact views.
* The **AI Analysis** button (✨) exports filtered data and opens a chat with Sherpo AI—perfect for questions like:
> “What was my average order size this month?”\
> “Summarize sales growth compared to last quarter.”
### Transactions table
Each transaction includes:
* **Customer** email
* **Amount** and **currency**
* **Sherpo** and **external fees**
* **Coupon** used
* **Date created**
Click any row to open **Stripe Connect Payment Details**, where you can view payment metadata, issue refunds, or check risk indicators.
Export filtered results as **CSV**, **Markdown**, or **JSON** for accounting or BI tools.
***
## Customers page
### Header metrics
The **Customers** page aggregates user behavior and distribution data:
* **All-time customers** — Unique buyer emails.
* **Average order value** — Lifetime AOV based on all transactions.
* **Number of countries** — Total distinct billing countries.
You can switch currencies to recalculate values instantly.
### Geographic distribution
See where your customers come from with a sortable table and percentage breakdowns. Columns include **country**, **user count**, **orders**, **total sales**, and **average order value**. This helps you identify key markets, localize checkout experiences, and plan targeted campaigns.
### Customer activity
Filter by date range to analyze new versus returning customers, or review cohort performance after a campaign. Top metrics include:
* **Customers in period**
* **Average order value**
* **Countries represented**
You can also use **AI Analysis** to summarize trends automatically — for example:
> “Which countries drove the most new buyers last month?”\
> “Who are my top five repeat customers?”
***
## Shared features
* **Date range presets** — The same range picker applies across both dashboards and syncs in the URL.
* **Exports** — All tables can be exported in **CSV**, **Markdown**, or **JSON** formats.
* **AI conversations** — Each AI Analysis opens inside your AI workspace, where results are saved for reference.
* **Privacy & permissions** — Only authorized organization members can view sales and customer data; customers never see this information.
***
## FAQ
All metrics and tables update in real time after every successful transaction. If you refund or delete a payment in Stripe, Sherpo automatically reflects the change.
If you’re on the **Ultra** plan, Sherpo charges no platform fees. You may also see dashes if data is filtered by a range with no transactions.
Yes. Click any transaction in the Sales table to open **Stripe Payment Details**—from there, you can issue partial or full refunds.
Absolutely. Open the **Customers** page and search by email to see that customer’s total orders, countries, and spend.
Sherpo divides total revenue (gross or net, depending on filter) by the number of completed orders within the date range.
This occurs when the billing country isn’t provided by Stripe. It doesn’t affect reporting accuracy: only location-based segmentation.
Sales metrics aggregate across your entire organization. For product-specific breakdowns, open the **Product → Sales** tab instead.
Every AI analysis is stored under your **Sherpo AI** workspace, where you can revisit, rename, or export conversations anytime.
Currently, exports are separate—Sales and Customers each export their own data. You can merge them externally using your preferred BI or spreadsheet tool.
Sherpo reports values based on the selected currency. If you sell products in multiple currencies, switch using the top dropdown to view localized totals.
# Site Settings
Source: https://docs.sherpo.io/dashboard/site-settings
Manage the branding, domain, language, and search visibility for your Sherpo site from the dashboard.
Every new Sherpo **space** automatically comes with a hosted site on `yourname.sherpo.io`.
The **Site settings** page lets you customize your site’s identity, appearance, and visibility. All directly from the dashboard.
***
## Open the Site settings page
* Sign in to [Sherpo Dash](https://dash.sherpo.io).
* Click **Settings** in the main navigation.
* Use the **Info**, **Preferences**, and **Appearance** tabs to configure your site.
***
## Info
### Site name and description
Define how your site appears across the product and to visitors.
* **Name**: 3 to 30 characters
* **Description**: up to 250 characters
These are shown in the browser title, previews, and other public surfaces.
### Site domain
Your site is hosted on a Sherpo subdomain by default.
* Example: `demo.sherpo.io`
* To migrate to or from a **custom domain**, you must currently [contact support](mailto:support@sherpo.io).
***
## Preferences
### Language
Select the default language for your site. This controls the interface language shown to visitors.
Sherpo currently supports the following languages:
* English
* Deutsch
* Italiano
* Français
* Português
* Español
* Русский
* 日本語
After changing language, the change may take a short time to propagate in your website, due to caching.
### Search engine indexing
Disable search engine indexing to prevent Google and other crawlers from indexing your site. Existing indexed pages will be gradually removed from results.
It can be useful to keep indexing disabled while your site is private, under development, or intentionally not discoverable. Enable it if you want your site to appear in search results.
***
## Appearance
### Icon
Upload your site icon. This is used as the favicon and in previews.
* Square PNG or JPEG
* Browser caching may cause a short delay before updates appear
### Accent color
Choose the highlight color used across your site.
* **Accent color (light)** applies in light mode
* **Accent color (dark)** applies in dark mode
These colors affect links and some interactive elements.
### Theme restriction
Control which themes are available to visitors:
* **Both**: light and dark mode, auto-switching based on system preferences
* **Light**: force light mode only
* **Dark**: force dark mode only
### Hero dots
Enable or disable the animated dots background shown at the top of each page. Disabling this can improve performance on older devices.
Hero dots add subtle motion and personality. We recommend keeping them enabled unless performance is critical.
### Custom styling
Ultra plans can upload a custom `.css` file to further customize the site appearance. Styles are applied on top of default Sherpo styles and may take a short time to propagate due to caching.
***
## Shortcut reference
### Info
* **Name** and **description** define your site identity
* **Domain** controls your `.sherpo.io` address or custom domain
### Preferences
* **Language** sets the visitor interface language
* **Search engine indexing** controls SEO visibility

## FAQ
Yes. Custom domains are supported on paid plans. Migrations currently require contacting Sherpo support.
Browsers cache static assets aggressively. Changes usually propagate within a few minutes.
The selected language controls the interface text shown to visitors, such as navigation, buttons, and system labels. It does not automatically translate your content. Pages, posts, and custom text remain in the language you write them in.
No. Only PNG and JPEG files are supported.
No. Search engines remove pages gradually as they re-crawl your site.
No. It only affects visuals and may slightly improve performance on older devices.
# Templates
Source: https://docs.sherpo.io/dashboard/templates
Start from a complete, pre-designed layout and customize it block by block.
Templates let you quickly set up your homepage using a proven structure. They are ideal if you want a strong starting point without building everything from scratch.
A template is simply a **Layout preset** built using standard blocks. Once applied, it behaves exactly like a layout you built yourself.
***
## Availability
Templates are part of **Layout**.
* **Pro** and **Ultra** users can apply templates and publish updates to their live site.
* **Start** users can build and preview a template-driven layout in the editor, but clicking **Update layout** will not update their live website. To publish layout changes, they will need to upgrade.
You can experiment freely on Start. Upgrading later will allow you to publish the layout you already built.
***
## What templates are
Templates are full-page layouts designed for common use cases, such as:
* Product-first e-commerce stores
* SaaS landing pages
* Brand showcases
* Content-heavy or educational platforms
Each template is composed of regular blocks like Hero, Products, Pricing, FAQ, and layout blocks. Nothing is locked or special after applying it: you can always customize a template afterwards, and they are very useful to get kickstarted!
Templates do not introduce new block types. They only pre-arrange existing ones.
***
## Opening the Template Library
You can access templates directly from the Layout editor.
* Open **Site → Layout**
* Click the **•••** menu in the top-right corner
* Select **Template Library**
This opens a modal with all available templates.
***
## Browsing templates
Each template card shows:
* The template name
* A short description of its purpose
* The main blocks used in the layout
Templates are designed to be opinionated but **flexible**. They showcase common layout patterns you can adapt to your needs.
***
## Applying a template
When you select a template, your current layout is replaced.
This means:
* Existing blocks are removed
* The new template structure is applied
* You can immediately edit, move, or delete any block
Applying a template replaces your current layout. If you want to keep your existing structure, export it first. If you click a template by mistake, just press revert.
After applying a template, you remain in the Layout editor and can start customizing right away.
***
## Customizing a template
Once a template is applied, it behaves like any other layout.
You can:
* Reorder blocks
* Edit content inside blocks
* Remove sections you do not need
* Add new blocks anywhere
* Hide blocks temporarily while iterating
Templates are not meant to be perfect out of the box. Most users remove or rearrange blocks to match their brand.
***
## Exporting and importing layouts
You can save your own layouts and reuse them across spaces. From the Layout editor:
* Click the **•••** menu
* Select **Export** to download your layout
* Use **Import** to restore or reuse it later
This is useful if you:
* Experiment with different designs
* Reuse layouts across spaces
* Share layouts within a team
Note: Layouts are in a .sherpo format which only Sherpo can read!
***
## FAQ
Start users can build and preview layouts in the editor, but clicking Update layout will not update their live site. To publish layout changes, upgrade to Pro or Ultra.
Yes, you can revert, as long as you haven't pressed update. If you want to restore a previous layout, export it before applying a template and re-import it later.
Yes. Every block in a template (aside from header and footer) can be edited, moved, or hidden. Blocks such as hero and products cannot be deleted.
Templates only affect layout structure. Your products, files, and content remain unchanged.
You can export any layout and reuse it later by importing it into another space.
# Usage & Storage
Source: https://docs.sherpo.io/dashboard/usage
Monitor product counts, transactions, storage limits, and heavy files from Sherpo’s Usage page.
The **Usage** page helps you track how much of your plan’s resources you’re consuming, from the number of active products and total transactions to file storage and your heaviest assets.
It’s designed to make maintenance effortless, so you can keep your Sherpo workspace lean and efficient.
***
## Overview
***
## Summary cards
At the top of the page, you’ll find three live metrics that summarize your workspace usage:
* **Products** — Count of active (non-archived) products. Sherpo plans allow unlimited products, so this is mainly informational.
* **Transactions** — Total number of completed checkouts across all products.
* **File storage** — Your current file storage usage vs. the plan quota (Flex: 5 GB, Plus: 50 GB, Ultra: 250 GB). The value turns **red** when you exceed your limit, prompting you to optimize or delete assets.
These metrics update automatically, so you’re always up to date on your workspace limits.
***
## Heaviest files
The **Heaviest files** section visualizes your uploaded assets and their impact on storage. This section lists up to your **100 largest files** across all products (videos, images, downloads, etc.).
* Each row shows **filename**, **file type**, **size**, and **created date**.
* Use the search bar to locate files by name.
* Sort columns by **size**, **type**, or **created date** to find optimization opportunities.
### Free-space toggle & chart
* Toggle **Show Free Space** to overlay remaining storage on the visual chart.
* The colored treemap visualizes file size distribution across all uploads, grouped by product or folder.
* Hover over blocks to view file details and click to jump directly to the corresponding product.
The chart helps identify space hogs visually — ideal for quick cleanups before hitting your quota.
***
## Export & maintenance tips
* Export your full list of files in **CSV**, **Markdown**, or **JSON** for offline audits or storage reporting.
* Delete files tied to unpublished or outdated products.
* Periodically clear test uploads or unused media assets.
***
## Best practices
* Review **Usage** monthly — especially on Flex and Plus plans — to avoid reaching storage limits.
* Upgrade to **Ultra** if you need higher capacity for rich media or multiple video-based products.
* Use the search bar to locate placeholder or duplicate files for cleanup.
* Create a routine (e.g., end-of-month content audit) to remove old launches or campaigns.
***
## Storage limits & organization
* Paid plans include generous hosting space. You can review your quota anytime under **Dashboard → Usage**.
* Sherpo automatically organizes uploads by product and displays the heaviest ones first.
* Each file displays its MIME type (e.g., *video/mp4*, *image/png*) and contribution to your quota.
***
## FAQ
Usage metrics update in real time, whenever you upload, replace, or delete a file. Large deletions might take a few seconds to propagate while caches clear.
All your uploaded assets: videos, images, audio, PDFs, and any downloadable files.
No. You can click any file row to navigate to the associated product, then remove or replace it from there. Deleting files from a product automatically updates the Usage view.
Check for old product drafts, duplicate uploads, or large video files used in multiple lessons. Each upload is counted separately, even if the same file is reused.
Sort files by size and remove the largest non-essential items.
You’ll still be able to access your dashboard, but new uploads may be blocked until you delete or upgrade. Existing products remain visible to customers.
Sherpo performs light optimization (e.g., image resizing), but video compression and audio mastering are up to you.
You can use external links, which do not count toward Sherpo storage.
“Other” includes cached assets, thumbnails, and metadata overhead reserved by the system.
Yes: Sherpo recalculates usage right after deletion. If it still shows the same number, refresh the Dashboard or clear the cache.
# Authentication
Source: https://docs.sherpo.io/features/auth
Let users log in via email or Google — they are your customers, not ours.
Every Sherpo-generated site ships with a secure authentication layer by default, so your customers can log in, access their purchases, and manage their profile, all under your brand. You don't need to wire up OAuth or manage sessions yourself: Sherpo handles it automatically for every site (e.g., `yoursite.sherpo.io`).
***
## How customers log in
### Entry points
Every Sherpo-generated site includes a **Sign in** button in the header. Once logged in, this button turns into a profile avatar linking to their dashboard.
***
### Email magic links
By default, visitors enter their email address and receive a **secure code** via email to complete the sign-in process.
This is a **passwordless flow**: faster, simpler, and more secure on mobile.
***
### Google sign-in
Sherpo includes **Google OAuth** out of the box. Visitors can simply click **Sign in with Google** and complete the flow without leaving your site.
***
### Security and session management
* All authentication flows are secured through **Cloudflare**, protecting against bots and spam logins.
* Once logged in, users stay signed in across your Sherpo-generated site, until they log out or the session expires.
Unlike other platforms, customers who sign in to your Sherpo-generated site are **not** signed in to other Sherpo sites. They are 100% **your customers**, not ours, or anyone else’s.
***
## FAQ
No. Google OAuth is currently built-in and active by default to maximize ease of access and reduce login friction.
No. For security reasons, Sherpo uses **passwordless magic links** for email-based login. Customers simply enter their email and receive a one-time code to confirm their identity.
Each login event is linked to a valid order, product access, or free unlock. You can then track authenticated customers in your **Sales** and **Customers** dashboard.
Never. Authentication is scoped to your domain (e.g., `yoursite.sherpo.io`). Each site has its own isolated user base, ensuring **data privacy** and **ownership** for every creator.
Sessions are persistent but device-specific. Customers logging in on a new device will need to reauthenticate via email or Google.
You can customize your site branding, logo, and accent colors: these apply automatically to the site. The structure of the authentication is not editable.
Sherpo never exposes account existence information. Users who enter a non-existent or incorrect email will simply not receive a code, keeping your user base private and protected.
# Checkout
Source: https://docs.sherpo.io/features/checkout
Built-in Stripe checkout with multiple payment methods, including BNPL.
Sherpo wraps **Stripe Checkout** under your brand so every product can collect payments without any custom code. This guide explains how **checkout behaves**, which payment methods are available, and how to customize the experience.
If you are looking for a guide about how to setup Stripe Connect from the Dashboard and how Payments work on Sherpo behind the scenes, check out this:
Connect Stripe, monitor onboarding tasks, and review payouts and tax settings for your Sherpo organization.
***
## Checkout basics
* **Hosted flow** — When a buyer clicks **Unlock** on a product, Sherpo launches a responsive, secure checkout on your website. Behind the scenes, the checkout is powered by Stripe.
* **Accounts & access** — For product types with unlockables, such as **Courses** and **Downloads**, users are required to sign-in during checkout. Once payment succeeds, Sherpo immediately unlocks their purchase (files, course lessons, etc.).
* **Order summaries** — Each checkout includes a transparent order summary with the total price and buyer email address.
* **Receipts** — Stripe automatically emails a receipt for the payment, and Sherpo sends a transactional confirmation email on your behalf.
### 1. Add a coupon (optional)
If discounts are available, users can enter a coupon before paying.
### 2. Choose payment method
Users can pay with Link, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Amazon Pay, Klarna, Afterpay, or any major credit/debit card.
### 3. Verification and success
After submitting payment, Sherpo verifies the transaction.
If successful, Sherpo redirects to the unlocked course.
Users also receive an email confirmation and, for paid products, a receipt.
***
## Free unlocks
If a product is set to **free**, users will see an *Unlock for free* button. This lightweight flow still requires an email, ensuring access is tied to their account.
***
## Supported payment methods
Sherpo relies on **Stripe’s payment method availability**, automatically syncing your configured options. All payments flow through your connected Stripe account.
| Method | Availability | Notes |
| --------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Cards (Visa, Mastercard, AmEx, Discover, etc.)** | Global | Enabled by default for all Stripe accounts. |
| **Apple Pay & Google Pay** | Regions supported by Apple/Google | Automatically active once your domain is verified with Stripe (Sherpo handles this for `.sherpo.io` sites). |
| **Link by Stripe** | US + select countries | Lets customers save cards and addresses for one-click checkout. |
| **Buy now, pay later (Klarna, Afterpay/Clearpay, Affirm, Zip)** | Varies by buyer location | Stripe dynamically displays eligible BNPL methods. Klarna is available in all supported regions. |
> **Note:** PayPal is not currently supported on Sherpo.
***
## Coupons and bundles
* **Coupons** — Buyers can apply discounts using URLs with `?coupon=CODE`, custom redirect links, or by entering a code at checkout. Discounts appear instantly.
Sherpo also supports automatically applied coupons, either always active or shareable with their custom link:
If you're looking for a guide about how to create coupons, check this out:
Boost sales with targeted coupon codes and affiliate payouts managed directly in Sherpo.
* **Bundles** — all files and links appear as one line item under the "Content" block: customers will unlock all the items post-purchase.
***
## Testing checkout
If you want to be extra sure, you can test your checkout flow safely before going live:
1. Connect a **Stripe test account** from your Sherpo **Payments** page.
2. Create a **Coffee product** with a minimum price of **\$3.00**.
3. Test a transaction directly on your Sherpo site.
4. Within 7 days, you’ll receive the payout (net of Stripe and Sherpo fees).
> **Note:** Testing is optional: Sherpo automatically verifies that all live checkouts function correctly.
***
## Best practices
* Complete **Stripe Connect onboarding** before launching sales to avoid payout interruptions.
* Regularly monitor your **Payments** tab to track payout status and resolve any pending Stripe compliance requests.
Sherpo’s checkout is fast, secure, and fully branded, letting you focus on building products while Stripe manages global payment processing behind the scenes.
***
## FAQ
Not yet. Sherpo currently supports only payment methods powered by **Stripe**. PayPal and other processors are being considered for future updates.
Sherpo automatically surfaces BNPL options, such as Klarna, Afterpay, Affirm, or Zip, when Stripe determines the buyer is eligible.
* **Klarna** is available in all supported regions.
* **Afterpay/Clearpay** supports Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK, and the US.
* **Affirm** works in the US and Canada.
* **Zip** supports Australia and the US.\
Keep in mind that certain payment methods only appear for orders above specific value thresholds set by the provider.
Yes. Sherpo automatically enables **Apple Pay** and **Google Pay** when your domain is verified with Stripe. For `.sherpo.io` sites, domain verification is handled automatically.
All orders appear under **Sales** in your Sherpo dashboard, complete with synced payout information from Stripe. You can also view sales by product under each product’s Sales view.
Yes. Set your product price to **\$0** or use an **automation** to unlock products for free upon signup. Sherpo bypasses Stripe’s checkout and sends an access confirmation email automatically.
Yes. You can issue refunds directly through Sherpo, under **Payments -> Balance & Payouts**.

Sherpo’s built-in review system lets logged-in customers who have unlocked your products leave **1–5 star ratings** and optional written comments. They can also sign their reviews with a preferred display name for a more personal touch.
This guide covers how reviews work from the **customer’s perspective**. If you’re looking for the creator-side setup guide, see below:
Set up reviews and collect customer feedback directly on your Sherpo products.
***
## Leaving a review
Once a customer unlocks a product, they’ll see a **Leave a review** option when clicking on the **Review** block.
To submit a review, the customer must:
1. Click the **Review** block.
2. Choose a rating (1–5 stars).
3. Optionally enter a name and comment.
4. Click **Leave review** to confirm.
Reviews appear instantly in the creator’s dashboard and remain linked to the buyer’s order. This ensures feedback is always traceable to real customers.
***
## Update reviews
Customers can **update** their reviews at any time, adjusting both the rating and comment, by repeating the same submission flow. When a review is updated, Sherpo retains the previous version for internal reference but shows only the **latest version** in your dashboard.
Automations linked to reviews will trigger again when a customer updates their review, letting you re-engage them easily.
***
## Displaying reviews
Visitors and customers can view the **rating distribution** (the number and percentage of 1–5 star scores) and the total number of reviews by clicking on reviews. All **written reviews** will also appear, divided by page:
***
## FAQ
Yes! By default, star ratings are visible on your product pages, and by clicking on the stars, all users will be able to see all written comments.
Customers can **edit** their reviews anytime by resubmitting them. They cannot delete them directly.
Yes. Only logged-in customers who have unlocked or purchased your product can leave a review, ensuring reviews come from verified buyers.
No. Each buyer can leave one review per product, which they can update later if needed.
Customers can choose whether to write their name or leave it blank.
Only verified customers who’ve unlocked a product through a valid order can leave feedback, so there’s no way to post reviews without purchase access.

## Hosting
Sherpo gives you a fully managed hosting and storage pipeline for videos, PDFs, slides, spreadsheets, and downloadable files. Once you upload assets in the dashboard, Sherpo handles **streaming, CDN delivery, and access control**: no YouTube, Vimeo, Wistia, Dropbox, or Drive links required.
### Why hosting on Sherpo
* **Zero middlemen** — Assets live directly on Sherpo’s infrastructure. You don't have to manage API keys, embed codes, or use external links to different providers.
* **Instant access control** — Every file or video is tied to a product. If paywalled, customers cannot access and, in case a customer refunds, or their access expires, access is automatically revoked.
* **Security** — Tokenized playback, paywall protection, and optional PDF/XLSX security protect your intellectual property.
* **Performance** — Global CDN delivery ensures fast streaming and download speeds worldwide.
* **Analytics** — Data flows directly into your Sherpo dashboard: no third-party tracking scripts needed.
With Sherpo, your entire content stack: files, slides, and videos, lives inside one secure, fast, and integrated system. You focus on creating; Sherpo takes care of hosting, delivery, and protection.
